Quick Start Guide
Create a Canton wallet, complete onboarding, and start transacting with Grofty.
Step 1: Install the Browser Extension
Available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge
- Visit the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, or Edge Add-ons
- Search for "Grofty Wallet"
- Click "Add to Browser"
- Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access
Step 2: Create a Wallet
Generate your Canton wallet credentials
- Open the Grofty browser extension
- Select Create New Wallet
- Write down your recovery phrase — store it offline securely
- Confirm your recovery phrase
- Set a PIN to protect your local wallet
Recovery Phrase Warning
Grofty cannot recover your phrase if it is lost. Write it on paper and store it in a secure offline location. Never share it with anyone.
Step 3: Complete Onboarding
Join the whitelist to enable full wallet access
Grofty uses a controlled onboarding flow. Depending on the current release phase, you may need to join the whitelist before full access is enabled.
Your Wallet Profile shows:
- Party ID — your Canton identity
- Wallet status and role
- Connected address and source
- CC preapproval state
- USDCx preapproval state
- Bridge onboarding state
What is a Party ID?
Your Party ID is your Canton identity for receiving and sending Canton assets. Format:
your-name::1220...
Always confirm the full Party ID before sending assets.
Step 4: Receive or Bridge Assets
Fund your wallet with CC or USDCx
Receive CC or USDCx
- Open your Wallet Profile
- Copy your Canton Party ID
- Share it with the sender
- Confirm the asset appears in your balance after settlement
Bridge from External Network
- Open Bridge in the extension
- Select the source network and asset
- Select Canton as destination
- Enter the bridge amount
- Review the bridge fee and destination
- Confirm the transaction
- Wait for bridge settlement
Step 5: Send CC
Transfer Canton Coin to another Party ID
- Open Send Asset
- Enter the receiver's Canton Party ID
- Enter the CC amount
- Review the receiver amount and transfer fee
- Review the full transaction details
- Sign and submit
- Wait for ledger confirmation

The transfer screen shows the receiver amount and fee before you sign.
Step 6: Swap CC ↔ USDCx
Swap between Canton assets inside the wallet
CC → USDCx
- Open Swap
- Select CC as source
- Select USDCx as destination
- Enter amount
- Review quote and fee
- Confirm the swap
- Wait for settlement

- Open Swap
- Select USDCx as source
- Select CC as destination
- Enter amount
- Review quote and fee
- Confirm the swap
- Wait for settlement
Swap fees are separate from normal CC transfer fees.
Before Signing Any Transaction — Always Check:
- Receiver Party ID
- Asset symbol (CC or USDCx)
- Entered amount
- Receiver amount
- Fee amount
- Memo or description
- Transaction type (transfer / swap / bridge)
